HISTORY OF TELESCOOP
In April, 1974 PECCI General Assembly, the members passed a resolution directing to organize a Consumers Cooperative. A Committee was created to prepare the economic feasibility study.
In May 1974, the Committee confirmed the need to organize a Consumers Cooperative and named it PLDT EMPLOYEES' CONSUMER COOPERATIVE, INC. that means to beat the skyrocketing prices of goods and services brought about by the devaluation of the peso. In the application, the following were listed as incorporated:

In June 17, 1974 application together with documents were submitted to the Bureau of Cooperative Development.
In October 22, 1974 the Bureau granted authority to organize but suggested to change name to PLDT EMPLOYEES' SERVICE COOPERATIVE, INC. The acronym adopted was TELESCOOP.
In November 19, 1974 the board of incorporators met and elected the interim nine (9) Board of Directors namely: Kalalang, Lavarias, Abasolo, Ranjo and Dizon and three (3) Audit and Inventory Committee namely: Dela Cruz, Profeta and Bolisig. In the ensuing elections, Kalalang and Lavarias were chosen/President and General Manager, respectively.
In December 1974, the Chairman/President wrote PLDT Management for a chek-off deduction for TELESCOOP through payroll. Mr. Ramon Cojuangco, PLDT-President approved the request.
In January 1975 started the campaign for membership.
In February 1975 started payroll deduction for capital share of members who registered.
In June 18, 1976, the Bureau of Cooperative Development granted a certificate of registration No. Ff-045 a full pledge Cooperative. The date was officially adopted as the birth of TELESCOOP.
After receipt of certification of registration, an election of nine (9) Board of Directors was held and the following were elected for a one (1) year term.

From among the board members, elected Chairman/President was Kalalang and Jimenez as General Manager.
From its official birth in 1976, TELESCOOP has registered continuous growth to become one of the top Cooperative in the country with total assets of P 1,269,859,352 as of December 31, 2010.
